RE:Committee Substitute for H.B. 2291
DATE:March 17, 1999
There were two amendments to this bill.
1) Added to the definition of "teleconference" in subsection (8) of
§6-9A-2 at page 4, line 35 through 39, following the word body, is
an exception for meetings of the legislature. The effect of this
amendment is to not allow legislators to attend meetings of the
legislature by teleconference.
2) Also, added to the definition of "teleconference" in subdivision
(b) of subsection (8) at page 4, line 51, is a requirement that the
members of the public attending the meeting also be able to hear
the remarks of the member participating by teleconference.
